Simeon Douglas Brewster
Simeon has a penchant for being excessive. A hard over worked imagination and enjoys thinking. He thrills at the thoughts of being different and solitary. He is not inward by any means but at the same time he is brutally honest outwardly to those he dislikes. He can be middle ground if the situation calls for it. He is old school when it comes to many things such as learning. He once described himself as a chasm, a labyrinth with many twists and turns. In reality there is no better way to describe him.
His yearning for answers to his multitude of questions leads him down paths that many would shy away from. He is not afraid of the unknown and welcomes it actually. If something goes bump in the middle of the night he is not afraid to bump right back. He pushes himself into what others would normally run away and hide from. When there is a mysterious noise on the other side he will reach out and see what is there.
He is sarcastic and will tell you exactly what he thinks. He has a low tolerance for stupidity or people who are rude. It is very few and far between when he will bite his tongue or hold his temper.
In this first book of the series we can clearly see that Simeon is up for the challenge that awaits him.

Richard Garrison Brewster the Second
Richard is Simeon's older brother. Not more than a year apart in birth. Richard is a slow developing character for the main reason he is so normal. He represents the common person. Goal oriented and just existing. He seldom seems anything happening around him and when he does he always has a logical reason for it to happen. Life is simply that to him, no strings attached, plain and simple. You are born., you study, you work and then you die.
He has very little to say about the things he sees Simeon going through. Sometimes to the point you would think he has not even noticed. He brushes things aside that he can not explain and ignores these as if nothing has ever happened. So much like so many people who focus themselves onto things they can see and touch because they are easier to accept.

Quintin Taylor Brewster
The youngest of the Brewster Boys and quite possibly my favorite. He tries to stay grounded and does his best to avoid seeing things that can not be explained. He does his best to not think about them. He wants a normal life. His dream to play Baseball but some how along that path he gets tossed about and has to grow up quickly. Feeling somewhat abandoned and left holding the mess everyone else has ran from. His dreams all shot down of anything ever being normal. What is normal? Quin sure as heck doesn't know any more. And now faced with the thought that his crazy brother might not be so crazy after all.
